Just visiting the neighborhood…
Like millions of other artists, nature is a profound influence on my life, my work, and especially my art. Very often you might be able to tell where an artist lives or works because of the subject matter. In my case, I live on the edge of an enormous forest, a.k.a. park, with more than 4,400 acres. We have regular “visitors” from the park, from eagles to ground hogs, wild turkeys and skunks, and everything in-between. This year, for the first time, we had a family of foxes move into our back yard under the trees. It was a mother and 3 kits, all of whom are growing up quickly. Even though I have a German Shepherd, the foxes spent many hours playing in the yard. Who knew?
Here in Michigan, I treasure the warm weather and appreciate every day when “nature” just appears and inspires me. Not sure what to do with the many photos I’ve taken, but this week has been awesome! There are very talented artists who work in a specific theme (oceans, mountains, birds, etc.) repeatedly, but I normally do not do that…until now? Apologies this is not a great photo, but each photo is slightly blurry in one way or another. The kits were never still for very long!
